Dr. Sasaki is a board certified member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Lipoplasty Society of North America, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, Association of Academic Surgeons, American Medical Association, California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Los Angeles County Medical Association. He is also an Honorary Member of the Japanese Society for Plastic Surgery, Australasian Society of Aesthetic Surgeons, Canadian Society for Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Plastic Surgery, an Affiliate of the Royal Society of Medicine (England), and a member of The International Society of Hair Restoration. Dr. Sasaki was the Past-President of the Japanese American Medical Association for Southern California. Dr. Sasaki currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy.
Dr. Sasaki received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery training as well as fellowships in surgical oncology and breast cancer research at the University of Oregon Medical Center and served as an anesthesiologist during his military service in South Vietnam. After returning to Yale to complete his plastic surgical training and hand fellowship, Dr. Sasaki was a member of the full-time faculty of the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. He then became Associate Chief of Plastic Surgery and Director of Plastic Research at the University of Southern California Medical Center. Dr. Sasaki is in private practice in Pasadena, California and is a Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical School.
Dr. Sasaki has received honors and awards from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, including the Jerome Klingbeil Award for years of teaching excellence to his peers. The most recent recognitions are “The Best Doctors in America” by Woodward/White, Inc., and the Plastic Surgery Clinical Faculty of the year (Loma Linda University).
Dr. Sasaki has over fifty publications, including two textbooks, (Endoscopic Aesthetic Surgery and Tissue Expansion Reconstructive Surgery), twenty-six chapters in textbooks, as well as over sixty-five educational DVDs on aesthetic surgery. Dr. Sasaki has been the Visiting Professor to over eighty International Aesthetic Societal meetings to present courses, symposia and surgeries in his fields of expertise (cheek fat pad suspension and lower lid blending, endoscopic facial and forehead lift, automated microfollicular hair transplantation, cellulite treatments, radiofrequency skin contraction, LED photo-modulation of the skin, and medically-based skin care).
